Carol Tan

卡洛•唐(Carol Tan)教授为伦敦大学亚非学院法学院院长。其本科,硕士均毕业于伦敦,最终在英国约克大学获博士学位。教授现任职于伦敦大学亚非学院中国研究中心,同时还担任移民和侨民研究中心研究员、学术委员会成员。其研究领域主要在于中国性别问题;中国经济社会发展问题等。

卡洛教授有丰富的授课经验,并且指导了若干名博士生。其最近指导了两名博士生,他们的研究课题分别为:费利佩·德阿里森,“航运背景下赔偿书的可执行性”(2009年,纽卡斯尔大学);法萨尔·阿尔卡塔尼,“沙特阿拉伯外商直接投资的法律保护”(2010年,纽卡斯尔大学)。

除此之外,卡洛教授在国际著名期刊,如哈佛法律评论、比较法评论, 法学国际期刊等,发表十几篇论文,并主编出版过若干著作。其中,关于中国的部分成果包括《英国法律制度在中国:1898-1930年间英租威海卫的法律与正义》、《法律与东方文化》等。

Professor Carol G.S. Tan is the head of the school of law in SOAS, University of London. And she has got the bachelor degree and master degree in London and finally got a PhD degree in York University in the British. Now, professor ins working in the Chinses Research Center in SOAS. Besides, she is an academic staff of SOAS Centre of South East Asian Studies; a member of Centre for Migration and Diaspora Studies; a member of Academic Board. And she is majoring in gender problems in China, problems about economic and social development in China and so on.

She has been teaching the postgraduates and supervise several PhD students during the past years. Her recent PhD Supervisions included:

-Felipe de Arizon, 'The Enforceability of the Letter of Indemnity in the Context of Shipping' (2009, Newcastle University)

-Faisal Alkahtani, 'Legal Protection of Foreign Direct Investment in Saudi Arabia' (2010, Newcastle University)
