2007年至2011年中国政法大学法学本科；2011年至2014年中国政法大学中欧法学院法学双硕士学位；2014年至今在德国科隆大学法学院外国和国际刑法研究所攻读法学博士。目前研究方向为比较法、德国刑事司法。
博士期间研究课题为中美德高科技侦查制度的比较。该课题将采用多种法学研究方法将对通信监听和对话监听的法律条件和限制进行比较讨论。在美德，因为二战之后相关科技的高速发展，对应的法律制度得到迅速发展，相关判例层出不穷。在中国，改革开放之后，随着高科技侦查手段的使用，相关法律也陆续出台，并写入2012年刑事诉讼法。然而，规定仍然过于笼统，留有大量法律空白。本研究旨在在中国司法改革的大背景下，对高科技侦查方面的法律制度改革提供详实的资料并提出建议。
本项目于2014年受到国家留学基金委奖学金资助，从2019年开始受到德国Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung基金会资助。此外，在留德期间，积极提高语言能力，已经通过DSH-2德语水平考试。
从研究生阶段开始，积极参与学术活动。2013年参与教育部项目《死刑案件的证据适用》，并发表《格雷戈尔案与美国当代死刑制度》，载吴宏耀主编:《死刑的程序控制》，中国政法大学出版社2014年2月版。2016年与吴宏耀教授合作翻译发表《死刑案件中辩护律师的指定与辩护表现指引规则与评注(2003年2月修订版)》。博士期间发表《德国刑法中的正当防卫制度》，载《中国应用法学》2018年第6期和英文文章《Crimes Committed by Legal Persons ——A comparative Sino-German perspective》，载于China and WTO Review，2019年第1期。
Jiahui SHI completed her Bachelor of law at the International Law Faculty at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) in 2011 and later obtained her double-Master Degree on law in China–EU Law School of CUPL in 2014. From 2014 Jiahui Shi is a PhD candidate at the Foreign and International Criminal Law Institute at the Cologne University, Germany. She focuses on the comparative criminal and criminal procedure law and German criminal and criminal procedure law.
Her PhD project compares the high technical investigative measures in criminal procedures in USA., Germany and China. With the application of various research methods, it will discuss the preconditions and restrictions for the surveillance of the telecommunication and the oral communication during criminal procedure. In USA and Germany, after WWII, the legal system on the surveillance has been highly developed and many important cases have been decided because of the development of the telecommunication technics. In China, with the adoption of the high technics during the criminal investigation, corresponding rules have been introduced and been established in Criminal Procedure Law 2012. However, many legal gaps still remain. In the background of the judicial reform in China, the research aims to offer detailed foreign experience and give suggestions to the improvement in this field.
This project has been supported by CSC from 2014 and by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftungfrom 2019. In addition, during the stay in Germany, Jiahui SHI improved her language skills and has passed German language test DSH-2.
Already from master study, she participated academic activities actively. For instance, she participated the projectthe Application of the Evidence in the Death Penaltyin 2013 and publishedGregg Case and Death Penalty System in USAin 2014. Cooperated with Prof. WU Hongyao, she translatedGuidelines for the Appointment and Performance of Defense Counsel in Death Penalty Casesissued by ABA and published in 2016. During the doctor study, she has published journal articlesSelf-defense in German Criminal Law(Chinese) in 2018 andCrimes Committed by Legal Persons ——A comparative Sino-German perspective(English) in 2019.
